Now these are the kind of family sessions I enjoy. The ones where I let the parents play with their baby, only giving slight suggestions here and there so they can be relaxed and enjoy themselves in their element...and I get beautiful moments like this in return. Sure, I ask them all to look my way for a moment for a nice 'family photo' for the grandparents... But in the long run I find posing really restricts my personal style. What I really want to capture is the real you, the you that wasn't under pressure of being watched. As if I were only a passer-by, catching a sweet glimpse of an adorable family enjoying the park with their toddler. I know the toddlers prefer it this way too. You get those heart warming, joyful laughs and giggles from them as the parents tickle and share silly gestures with them. You get those proud dad grins as he glances over at mom bouncing baby on her knee. You get those warm, snuggly hugs from mom squishing baby's cheeks together...these are only precious moments that you would otherwise completely miss if you posed the family 'perfectly.' And oh how quickly these moments fade into the background. Life is not perfect, especially parenting and building a family. But to me that imperfection is beautiful. And that's why I do what I do. This is why I only wish to be that 'passer-by' capturing your small little outing at the park.
Needless to say, I am so excited to post this session! Thank you so much Josh and Lindsey, love you guys! Enjoy this series of photos of our fun day at the park! A.B.
